What is GRATECAL WTE 1.5D?
It is simulation software for prediction of solid fuel combustion in grate furnaces.
- It numerically solves heat and mass transfer within a solid fuel bed
- It analyses thermal conversion of the solid fuel bed including evaporation, pyrolysis, char oxidation and homogenous reactions
- It enables two-way coupling with an external CFD code for an iterative solution of combustion in a grate-fired furnace

The development of this software was funded by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under project No. TE02000236 “Waste-to-Energy (WtE) Competence Centre”.
