Assessing Stakeholder Awareness and the Role of Monetized Environmental Indicators in Industrial Water Management

Sustainable water management is a key component of modern industrial systems facing increasing water scarcity, particularly in drought-prone regions like South Moravia. While frameworks like Life Cycle Assessment quantify environmental impacts in physical or abstract units, these results are rarely integrated into practical economic decisions driven by capital and operational expenditures (CAPEX/OPEX). This project bridges the gap by exploring the role of monetized environmental indicators to align sustainability goals with corporate decision-making. The research is highly relevant under emerging regulatory pressures such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

• You will examine the concepts of sustainable industrial water management and circular water economy frameworks.
• You will assess stakeholder awareness and current decision-making practices using targeted questionnaire surveys and industry interviews.
• You will develop a practical case study demonstrating how selected water-related impacts (scarcity, pollution) can be effectively expressed in financial terms.
